A sketch of Rekk Zira the fire dancer from my world of Quaterath. It’s another sketch that I’m kinda proud of and that I’m I’m trying to improve on Paintool SAI.

Of course, her race info will hopefully be coming soon. Stay tuned!
Gonna be posting some sketches for my constructed world today! The first one here is one that I’m working on on Paintool SAI, but I haven’t gotten around to it recently. The second one are just practice heads for my main Draém character, Wellen.

From my main blog, have some Draém sketches! At least it’s better than no updates for long stretches of time…
Finally, here we have some of the many things that live on the surface of Quaterath because hey, what’s a fantasy world without its fantastic sentient races?
As of present in the Balanced Age after the end of the Great War, there are currently a total of 8 known sentient races living on the surface of Quaterath. They are generally refered to as ‘Nin’genoids’ rather than humanoids. Nin’gens being more-or-less the equivalent of humans in this world and one of the most widespread races out there.
In this batch above, there are four races that were originally created by the Children of Tera and existed on the surface of Quaterath before and after the Great War:
The Nin’gens (Singular form: Nin’gen) are a civilized, orderly race originating from the northern continent of Gei’Karnar. They are easy to distinguish by their pale, dull-colored or white wooly hair that grow on their bodies during the winter and molt when it’s no longer cold. Their societies are mostly structured in social classes based on their individual amount of riches and connections, from working class at the bottom to the ruling aristocracy at the top. They are also said to be the most technologically-advanced race to this day and age, as they have mastered the power of steam via the combustion of ectanite ore.
The Draéms (Singular form: Draém) are a race of nomads who travel around in tightly-knit families riding in caravans. With their perpetual wanderlust, they often seek adventure, trade merchandise or go around and help those in need. While they are usually non-violent creatures, they tend to ignore laws and refuse to settle down and compromise on the freedom they believe to have, which tends to get them in trouble with the more orderly and territorial races. They also have the ability to absorb, drain and manipulate life energy with their hands, which is useful for them to heal others and survive days without food and water.
The Lokidae (Singular form: Lokid) are easily said to be the most long-lived race on Quaterath with an average lifespan of 500 years. They are sentient and highly intelligent plant creatures born from the seeds of loki trees. They grow and gain nutrients from water and soler light and are also able to project psychic waves as a means to move their bodies around freely and grab things they can’t physically grab. While they remain mostly in the forests of Lokiernia and do little traveling, they are willing to research and document everything about their surroundings and then store it in the many libraries they have in their cities.
And last but not least, the Kojirians (Singular form: Kojirian) are a race of short, herbivorous creatures native to a tropical archipelago known as the Kojiri islands (which means ‘middle of earth’ in their language). They are generally very spiritual and devoted to the goddess Ectana, to the point that they can come off as fairly superstitious to other races. The jungle where they live is home to many predators that like to prey on them. It’s because of this that they have developed a special affection for fire and its protective, destructive and purifing properties. They also have a brand of time magic which can help bring back small fires or wind gusts from the past to repel these predators. However, there are some nin’genoid races that like to take advantage of their short size by enslaving them and using them for labor that requires reaching into tight spaces.
So that’s all for now. The next batch of races will hopefully be coming soon (when I actually get down to posting here, which takes me a while to do so) and there’s always a lot more about the races than what I wrote down here. Feel free to ask questions!
I might as well post this just to try and get back into posting stuff on my Tumblog. This is what the world of Quaterath looks like on a map.
I’ve started working on my world back when I was just in elementary school. I’ve improved significantly throughout the years as I stepped away from the usual cliché-fests to making my very own original stuff. But back then, it used to be called ‘the four worlds’, which was, of course, composed of separate worlds; one for humans, one for elemental spirits, one for beasts and one for elves. And yeah, there was a heaven counterpart with angels and a hell counterpart with a demon lord and it was cliché as hell. But one day, I decided to just cram them all together as continents of one planet named ‘Quaterath’ and I’ve kept that name for my world ever since.
(I could probably talk more about the development process and what influenced it, but lets just focus on the present. It’s really what matters anyway.)
There are four continents in the world of Quaterath:
The western land of Hamerick, mostly composed of fertile plains in the north, semi-arid badlands in the south and a large sea in between called the Mediquateran Sea. Aside from a mountain range in the northwest and the badlands in the south, there aren’t many high mountains on this continent.
The northern land of Gei’Karnar is a semi-volcanic frigid land that is divided into four to five islands by a river. Its temperate areas are only on its south shores and the southeastern peninsula where the Nin’gens have originated.
The continent of Roakaan is composed of a large mainland and three islands in the east, two in the south, known as Aratokaan, and one in the north that used to be called Yaseiya, but nowadays better known as the Roff Republic. It is home to some of the highest mountains on the planet. It has a massive range that runs from the Roffian island all the way down to the south end of the mainland. Its largest valley, called the Turrdakra valley, is located near the equator and is a lush area with lakes that are very contested between the many clans of Takaaratos living there.
The southern continent of Skollheim-Lokiernia is composed of two Lokid kingdoms in the west and east respectively. The Lokiernian territory is a vast rainforest full of giant loki trees that are home to the Lokidae and the Veresh. As for the Skollheim territory, it has a line of loki forests along its northern coast and the Skoll river to the west, but the rest of the region is a very hot and arid desert under the rule of the Saeblun Empire.
And last but not least, the Kojiri Islands were formed long ago in the center of Quaterath by an important volcano called Mt. Kofuhi . These islands are known for their jungles, medicinal plants and dangerous wildlife, and are home to the Kojirian people.
(If you guys have any questions about particular details of my world, don’t be afraid to ask me! Who knows, it could probably help me post more frequently on there with more interesting information. I know it’s been a bit difficult for me to know where to start with my blog and it usually takes a lot of time and effort for me to think about stuff and write it all down. But hey! We’ll see about that…)
Here are quick sketches of the two primal gods of Quaterath and the Shadow God.
And yes, the Shadow God has a loooooooooooooong body. It’s an infinitely long body he’s got, and twice the amount of arms. No really.
Also Solerus and Tera only have one eye each, like I mentioned before, but I just wanted to show it on here. They have some kind of wing thing that covers half of their faces just for the sake of asymmetry.
In the beginning, long before Quaterath came to be, the universe was just a vast, lifeless void filled with dust. There existed what we would call the primal gods. They were embodiments of the cosmos who had extraordinary power and size, but were mindless and imperfectly-shaped beings. They could only roam aimlessly across the cosmos, collecting dust along the way to press them into the shape of asteroids and barren planets.
There may be thousands upon thousands of primal gods out there in the universe, but the chances of them actually meeting each other were rather slim. Two gods in particular, who we would call Solerus(upper left on the picture) and Tera(upper right on the picture), united together to create the planet known as Quaterath. Two imperfect beings joined together would manage to create three perfect beings, as it was the exact amount of children they had. And so the world of Quaterath was destined to be a playground for the children of Tera, all while both their parents would circle around it to keep a watch over them. The single eyes of Solerus and Tera act as the sun (the Soler) and the moon (the Ataer) of Quaterath respectively.
Of course, the three children of Tera didn’t all come into Quaterath at the same time. The first one to arrive after the formation of the planet was Sei’noke, who claimed control over the elements and began to shape its surface and atmosphere. He built the mountains, dug up the valleys and cracked the mountains’ heads to make lava flow. He blew up the storms and made the rain fall onto the earth to create as many oceans and continents as he pleased.
After several millennia of work for Sei’noke, the second child of Tera, Rekonn, arrived on Quaterath bearing with him the seeds of life. Rekonn first planted the seeds into the ocean, forming algae, fish and all sorts of aquatic life. He then planted them onto the land to create plants and animals that, at this point in time, would only live by their instincts and reproduce until Rekonn would come in and reclaim their lives.
For a very long time, things were going well in the world as per usual. It wasn’t until the youngest child of Tera, Ectana, arrived on Quaterath that great changes would occur in Sei’Noke and Rekonn’s creations. By bringing her own intellect into the world, Ectana allowed nature and all the living beings to evolve, gain a conscience and, for some, attain sapience and civilisation. She inscribed all the history of the world into stone and wrote the tales of every individual creature in the corridors of time.
Without any of the children of Tera, the planet Quaterath would have only remained a barren, lifeless wasteland not unlike any asteroid made by primal gods. Even if we were to remove only one god from the planet, the consequences would spell doom for all the creatures living in it. If we were to take away Sei’noke, the entire atmosphere would disappear along with him. If we were to take away Rekonn, all life on the planet would simply wither and die. If we were to take away Ectana, everything would just stay frozen in time for all eternity.
However, the influence of the children of Tera tends to only affect the surface of Quaterath. Deep within the deepest reaches of the planet, there exists a realm of complete darkness, ruled by an entity only known as the Shadow God. It is the force that binds the world together and keeps it from crumbling apart. Every time he moves an inch, there are chips of earth that fall down on him, which he transforms into his own twisted creations.
These two realms, the surface and the underworld, would eventually meet and clash with one another, but that, my friends, is a different story for another blog entry…
(…That is if I try to go a linear path with my entries, but I kinda doubt it. There are other fields that I’ve elaborated on more that would probably come before that, but ah well; we’ll see how that goes. Until next time, guys!)

Welcome to my blog! This is my very first post here.
Right now I’m just setting up shop here and getting some contacts. I’m only figuring just now how to work with Tumblr, so hopefully I’ll start blogging about Quaterath very soon.
